Check out this blog for all kinds of advice on improving your ability to play outside with the people that you love. You never know, improving your kickball game might also help you to live a longer, healthier life.

Tips For Properly Storing Your RV Over The Winter

Recreation & Sports Blog

If you plan on storing your RV over the winter, it is important to make sure that you are doing so with extreme caution. You want to make sure that it is done properly in order to preserve the condition of your RV. After all, you may want to be able to pull it out of storage right after the winter ends so you can take it out for some road trips or camping. To help make sure that you are properly storing your RV at a facility like Drydock Depot RV Boat Storage, you will want to make use of the following advice:

Clean Out the Inside

Rodents will scavenge for food throughout the year, but they might be a little more desperate during the winter months because of a lack of resources during that time of year. If you were to leave food in your RV, even if it is non-perishable food that would still be good in a few months, there is a good chance that it will be sniffed out by local rodents. They can chew their way into your RV for any food that you leave behind, even if it is nothing more than a handful of crumbs. Therefore, you will want to take the time to not only remove all food from the cupboards in the RV, but wipe down the table and counters, as well as vacuum the floor.

Remove the Tires

If you will not be returning throughout the winter to rotate the tires on the RV, it might be best to simply remove them. You can remove the tires and place the RV on blocks. The purpose of this is to make sure that the RV tires do not go flat or end up rotting out along the side that is sitting still on the ground for months. Since tires for an RV can be rather expensive, especially if you have to replace several of them at one time, you will want to try to avoid doing that if at all possible. If you are not able to remove the tires and place the RV on blocks, you will want to try to return every couple of weeks to move the RV back and forth a little so the tires are not always resting in the same exact position.

Now that you have a little more knowledge regarding how your RV should be stored during the winter months, you will want to go ahead and start to get your RV ready. After all, you do not want to find yourself in a position where you have to rush through the preparation process and then you end up forgetting a very important step.
