Learn How To Pack A Bug Out Bag In Preparation Of An Apocalypse

Recreation & Sports Blog

If you are someone who is fearful that an apocalypse could happen at any time, it is best for you to do what you can to make sure that you are ready to take off from your home at a moment's notice. A great way to do that is to have a 24 hour bug out bag ready and waiting for you at all times. The following guide provides you with a few tips you can use to ensure that you have everything in your bag that you will need.

Pack a Flashlight and Extra Batteries

When an apocalypse happens, there is a good chance that there will not be a supply of electricity readily available. A great way to ensure that you are able to see when it is dark is to have a great flashlight available to use. Be sure to choose an LED flashlight so that it can produce bright light and have extra batteries available so that you can replace them when they die.

Pack Nonperishable Foods

When you need to leave quickly, packing food will be difficult. There are packed meals available that do not perish for decades and can be prepared with nothing but the items within the package. It is best to pack quite a few of these in your bag so that you can be sure you will have something to eat until you can find another source of food.

Pack Bottled Water

You will need to drink plenty of water and the water sources near your home may be contaminated if an apocalypse were to happen. Having bottled water in your bag ensures that you always have clean, safe water to drink while you are trying to figure out what is going on.

Pack Clothes for Different Seasons

Temperatures can change dramatically from day to night and having clothes for both cold and warm weather will ensure that you are ready for any weather conditions. It is best to wear a pair of hiking boots when you have to leave your home to ensure that your feet are well protected from anything dangerous you may have to walk on or through.

Planning for an apocalypse does not have to be difficult to do. You need to be sure to pack all necessities to get you through for a week or two. By this time, you should be able to find other people who have survived and be able to start to determine what you'll need to do to survive.
