Having Fun With Friends

Do you remember the last time you had a great time spending the afternoon with family and friends outdoors? If you are like most people, you might think things like boating and playing kickball are fun--but only if you are fit and coordinated enough to participate fully. I struggled with having an enjoyable experience with recreation and sports, that is until I started concentrating on getting better at outdoors activities. Check out this blog for all kinds of advice on improving your ability to play outside with the people that you love. You never know, improving your kickball game might also help you to live a longer, healthier life.

3 Tips For Sticking To Your Nutrition Plan

Recreation & Sports Blog

A great way to lose weight and stay on track, in terms of your food intake, is to create a nutrition plan or have one created for you. Your nutrition plan will be created just for you, thus allowing it to help you reach your personal health and fitness goals. However, one issue that people run into when they have a nutrition plan is sticking with it and following it long term. They do well the first couple of weeks, but then things start to get difficult. Thankfully, there are certain things that you can do that help you to stick to your nutrition plan long term and see excellent results.

Give Yourself A Cheat Day

If you feel like you never have the opportunity to eat anything you'd like, then it can be difficult to stick to a strict nutrition plan. If you give yourself a cheat day either once a week or twice a month, you have something to look forward to. This cheat day could also be a cheat meal, if this is more preferable for you. This day doesn't have to be a junk-fest, but it can give you enough of the foods you enjoy to help motivate you to keep eating healthy and sticking with your nutrition plan.

Don't Eliminate Carbs

Some people think that eliminating carbs from their diet is the best way to lose weight. However, this often isn't the case for multiple reasons. For one thing, all carbs are not bad and our body needs them. You can get healthy carbs in the form of whole wheat breads and pastas, eggs, bananas, beans, and many vegetables. These are all important nutrients in a healthy diet and can help to properly fuel your body. It is also important to have carbohydrates for energy purposes. If you want to be able to exercise, then you need the energy to do so; the energy from healthy carbohydrates helps you to build muscle and burn more calories.

Record Your Results

Results are perhaps the best motivating factor possible. When you see the positive changes that your body is making because of your nutrition plan, you will be more motivated to follow it. You will likely not only feel like you look better physically, but you will also feel better emotionally. Because you are getting all of the nutrients that you need from your diet, you may also be able to stop taking certain medications or vitamins that you had to rely on before.
